Volunteer Training Teams
In order to promote greater understanding and acceptance of Sustainable Agriculture in developing countries, WHT is rounding up local and US experts and coordinating their efforts. We currently have such a project in the Northern Region (breadbasket) of Ghana, working with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and universities. Equipment and airfare will be provided through a $35,000 grant from Rotary International. In addition local Rotary clubs will work with farmers and farm groups to teach the methods and provide continuity to the programs. We are looking for situations in other countries where local experts are available and willing to volunteer their time and energies.
